Chart Check: Ice Spice’s ‘Gangsta Boo’ Becomes Her First Hot 100 Hit As Its Parent EP Marks Her First Billboard 200 Top 40

Published: Thursday 2nd Feb 2023 by Rashad

As one of the most talked about rising female rappers over the last year, Ice Spice is reaping the benefits of a success recipe that’s seen her dominate social media platforms like Tik Tok with her unique style.

Proof of that can be found aboard the updated Billboard charts which show the 23-year-old making her inaugural appearances on both the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 thanks to Lil TJay-assisted ‘Gangsta Boo’ and its parent project ‘Like…?’

Found at #82 on the updated Hot 100, ‘Gangsta’ comes as the first time the rising rapstress has seen her name printed on the tally.  She previously got close with breaking into the chart territory with the Bubbling Under-peaking viral hit ‘Munch (Feelin’ U’).’

Here are the numbers that helped hoist ‘Gangsta’ to its commendable debut.

  • Digital Sales   2,900 downloads sold
  • Streaming   5.1 million U.S.-based streams
  • Radio Airplay   600,000 audience impressions

See who joins her on this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100 edition.

The victory isn’t the only one Ice is celebrating this week.  ‘Like…?’ – the parent EP of ‘Gangsta Boo’ – bounced to a #37 premiere on this week’s Billboard 200. Coming as a personal milestone for the femcee, its arrival marks the first time her name has been printed on that tally.

It stands as the week’s top female Rap seller.
